Actress Libby Lomax has retreated into the world of classic movies, where the immortal lives of her favourite screen goddesses seem to offer so much more in the romance department than her own life.
After a terrible day on set where she embarrasses herself in front of the entire cast and worst of all, it’s sexy bad-boy star, Dillon O’Hara, she plonks herself down on her battered couch to watch Breakfast at Tiffany’s for the trillionth time.
Suddenly, Libby is astonished to find screen icon Audrey Hepburn, complete with little black dress, trademark sunglasses and vintage cigarette holder, sitting beside her and proffering advice.
Has Libby got what it takes to turn her life from a Turkey to a Blockbuster? Perhaps with a little bit of Audrey Hepburn magic, she might just pull it off…
A Night In With Audrey Hepburn is the first in a series of three books following the life and loves of Libby Lomax as she blossoms from Z-lister to A-lister and all of the stages in between with a little bit of help from some very special friends.

Thank you to HarperCollins UK for providing me a copy of this book.
A Night In With Audrey Hepburn is the first book in A Night In With series. It’s a contemporary series revolves around Libby Lomax; an actress specialized in being extras for movies and TVs. In this book, Libby has just moved into her own apartment. She had an accident involving fire on set which results in her being fired and her career is basically going nowhere. After one disastrous day, she decided to spend the rest of the day relaxing by watching her favorite movie, Breakfast at Tiffany’s. That’s when suddenly she found the lead actress of the movie standing in front of her in her apartment. Although Libby believes that it was just a dream, she didn’t want to miss a chance to bond with Audrey Hepburn, her favorite actress.
When I read the summary of this book, I’m intrigued with the concept. Especially if the person involved is Audrey Hepburn. I was excited to read this book. But then I was worried, how would the author represent Audrey in the novel? Since it’s based on a real person, there’s a certain expectation in the characterization of Audrey Hepburn in this book. The result is I’m not disappointed at all. Besides, Audrey doesn’t appear much so she won’t shift the focus of this book from Libby to her.
The writing style and humor in this book remind me of Sophie Kinsella’s books, especially the confession of a shopaholic series. Libby Lomax’s narration sounds like Becky Bloomwood. She’s clumsy, funny, a bit naïve, and her family is entertaining to read. I think all of the casts in this book are entertaining to read. This book has the blond ambitious actress who is Libby’s sister, the lovely boy best friend Olly, the gorgeous modelizer Dillon O’Hara, and other interesting character that make this book fun to read.
In conclusion, A Night In With Audrey Hepburn is a light and funny read. I’m interested to read the next book in the series, which will feature Marilyn Monroe. I recommend this book for a fan of chicklit or funny contemporary books.
