In the process of successfully "outing" himself as a vampire via his simultaneous career choices of rock star, author, and actor, Lestat has annoyed much of the vampire "community," who are furious that he has revealed their secrets (even if most of Lestat's fans don't really believe in his bloodsucking ways). More importantly, however, Lestat's antics have awakened the legendary Akasha, the mother of all vampires, and she is not exactly pleased with the way things have been going in the 6,000 years since she last ruled the world.

Hailed for its coiled eroticism and the moral claims it makes upon the reader, this mesmerizing novel is a story of love and secrets, horror and compassion, unfolding against the haunted landscape of postwar Germany.
When he falls ill on his way home from school, fifteen-year-old Michael Berg is rescued by Hanna, a woman twice his age. In time she becomes his lover—then she inexplicably disappears. When Michael next sees her, he is a young law student, and she is on trial for a hideous crime. As he watches her refuse to defend her innocence, Michael gradually realizes that Hanna may be guarding a secret she considers more shameful than murder.

Uang mengalir masuk.

Can acting in love lead to the real thing? This standalone addition to the Flirt series is sweet, fresh, and clean.
Abbey couldn’t be more excited. The end of the school year is coming, as is the annual sophomore class renaissance faire…and the headlining theatrical performance, where Abbey will be starring as a lead. There’s only one problem: her costar, Jason Hardy.
Everyone else might think Jason is perfect, but Abbey knows the truth. She remembers what he did at the school dance, and she knows he’s a total jerk.
But during the daily rehearsals, Abbey starts to see a side to Jason she hadn’t noticed before...and he might not be as bad as she thought. Each day she’s falling for him just a little bit more, and she thinks maybe Jason feels the same.
Or maybe he’s a better actor than Abbey could have guessed.

There might not be an exact science to first kisses, but Bailey’s about to experiment! This standalone addition to the Flirt series is sweet, fresh, and clean.
For fifteen-year-old high school sophomore Bailey Myers, science comes easy. But her feelings about the new boy in town, super-hot Logan Morse, are a bit more complicated. For whatever reason, the newcomer’s smile makes butterflies flutter rapidly in Bailey’s stomach and causes her knees to go weak. There’s no scientific explanation for such a reaction, at least none that Bailey knows of, unless…
No, it can’t be. Bailey doesn’t get crushes. Sure, she thinks Logan’s good-looking in a jaw-dropping way, has eyes she could stare at forever, and speaks with a voice that sounds like cherubs blasting their cute little trumpets. But that’s a normal reaction, right?
And even if it wasn’t, it’s not like Bailey has a chance, not with all the other gorgeous, popular girls at their school who have Logan Morse on their radar.
But when Logan needs a science tutor and Bailey gets the job, their growing friendship begins to turn into something more, as Bailey learns that chemistry is a powerful force…

[Review] Me Since You - Laura Wiess

Title of Book : Me Since You
Author : Laura Wiess
Publisher : Gallery, Threshold, Pocket Books | MTV Books
Published date : February 18th 2014

Laura Wiess captures the visceral emotion of a girl’s journey from innocence to devastating loss and, ultimately, to a strange and unexpected kind of understanding in this beautiful and painfully honest new novel.
Are there any answers when someone you love makes a tragic choice?
Before and After. That’s how Rowan Areno sees her life now. Before: she was a normal sixteen-year-old; a little too sheltered by her police officer father and her mother. After: everything she once believed has been destroyed in the wake of a shattering tragedy, and every day is there to be survived.
If she had known, on that Friday in March when she cut school, that a random stranger’s shocking crime would have traumatic consequences, she never would have left campus. If the crime video never went viral, maybe she could have saved her mother, grandmother, and herself from the endless replay of heartache and grief.
Finding a soul mate in Eli, a witness to the crime who is haunted by losses of his own, Rowan begins to see there is no simple, straightforward path to healing wounded hearts. Can she learn to trust, hope, and believe in happiness again?

[Masterpost] John Grisham Readalong for March

No comments :

Hi! So this year I'm planning to be getting more involved in the book blogger community especially Book Blogger Indonesia. Yet, I failed to do BBI's posbar for January and February. Ahahah, my bad. Terus saya baca post tentang read-along John Grisham yang dihost sama kak Astrid dari Books to Share, and I think why not? Lagipula John Grisham adalah salah satu author favorit saya. Jadi, ya, that's how I end up joining this read-along. Read-along ini merupakan salah satu bagian dari event 2014 Mystery's Book Club yang dihost oleh kak Maria dari HobbyBuku's Mystery Stories.
Untuk daftar rencana buku Grisham yang akan saya baca:

  1. A Time to Kill
  2. The Street Lawyer
Agak pesimis bisa baca dua-duanya sih sebenernya, soalnya A Time to Kill tebel banget -_- tapi saya sudah pingin baca dari duluuu. Mungkin kalo nggak sempet saya ganti A Time to Kill sama buku Grisham lain yang ada di perpus kampus. Koleksi buku-buku Grisham di perpus kampus lumayan banyak. Bahkan saya sudah narget dari jaman maba dulu buat ngabisin buku Grisham di perpus sebelum lulus, and I think I'm halfway there. Anyhoo, happy reading everyone!

February Wrap-Up 2014

No comments :

Hi! So it's time for February Wrap-Up 2014. I read various kinds of book this month and I enjoyed them. I read six books which is quite a lot for me. I thought I've only managed to read like four books because some books that I read are quite chunky. So I read The Sun Dwellers which is a sequel in The Dwellers series and then I read Armani Angels which is also a sequel. Then I got to read book one and book two in Flirt series. Those books are short and fun, I really enjoy reading them. After that I read The Time of My Life by Cecelia Ahern and I love this book. My review will be posted anytime soon and this book is one of the chunky books. Last but not least, I read The Queen of The Damned, book three in The Vampire Chronicles Series. I always want to finish the series and the books in the series are thick. I finished reading this book in eight days which I'm proud of because it took me months to finish The Vampire Lestat.
